This theatrical performance presents a thought-provoking dialogue between two prominent European intellectuals, Austrian Stefan Zweig and Frenchman Georges Bernanos. Set against the backdrop of World War II in February 1942, both men are exiles in Brazil and meet at Bernanos' estate in Barbacena. While Zweig, a Jewish refugee, has avoided direct confrontation with the Nazis, Bernanos has undergo transformations in his beliefs after witnessing the violent military uprising during the Spanish Civil War. Their conversation touches on crucial themes such as dehumanization in times of conflict, the role of intellectuals, nationalism, and the impact of globalization and cultural uniformity. Despite their differences, both share a commitment to humanism and freedom of thought, leading to an enlightening yet disheartening exchange. Directed by Frederic Roda, the play stars Óscar Intente and Joan Gomila, and is presented in Catalan.
