This collaborative drawing workshop combines nature, art, and personal well-being. Participants will explore the beauty of the natural world by engaging with the museum's collection and the surrounding park. Through observational drawing, participants will copy, trace, or creatively imagine new plant species inspired by intricate details found in the collection. Activities may include sketching a plant or tracing the shadows of trees in the park. Led by artist Gemma Paris, the workshop aims to establish a community archive of plant species observed both inside and outside the museum, allowing these species to coexist symbolically on a shared large caligraphic paper. The initiative draws inspiration from philosopher Emanuele Coccia’s idea that the names of species often elude us, encouraging a deeper connection with both the art and the environment, as well as fostering individual introspection.
