Workshop on Gender and Movement Performance
Dive into the exploration of gender corporeality and its performance through this engaging workshop. Often aware of the binary nature of gender constructs in our daily lives—such as attire, toys, and workplace dynamics—we are encouraged to probe deeper into how these constructs influence our movements and bodily expressions. The workshop facilitates an understanding of how societal norms shape not just our appearances but also our gestures, vocal modulation, smiles, and interactions with objects. Participants will examine the many ways gender shapes our physicality, using both theoretical frameworks and practical exercises that engage the body in performance. Suitable for individuals aged 16 and older, participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing for theater exercises, enhancing personal engagement in this transformative experience.
