Visit the Civil Air Raid Shelter

Explore the historical significance of the Civil Air Raid Shelter located under the Infància Gardens. Built in February 1938, this collective refuge was designed to accommodate over 600 people and features a series of interconnecting chambers accessed through a long passageway. The shelter was constructed to provide safety during air raids, equipped with electric lights; however, it lacked running water and restroom facilities. During your visit, you'll also have the opportunity to view two powerful audiovisuals: 'Amagats sota terra,' documenting the experiences of those who lived through the bombings in Girona, and 'La Queta i la Consol,' which highlights the memories of two young girls who took refuge in this very shelter.
