'Illa del Cos' is a collaborative sound installation created by composer Alexander Vert and visual artist Clara Claus. This project emerges from Clara's personal experience of grief following the loss of her father and her engagement with a Van Gogh letter concerning the afterlife. Clara and Alexander exchange their spiritual and metaphysical experiences related to loss, focusing on nature, the invisible, and signs of another world. Over several months, they accumulate connections, sounds, and voice memos, treating them like an immaterial cabinet of curiosities. These materials become the foundation of their creation, with poetic texts arising from Clara's whispered automatic writing, and Alexander composing a soundscape of natural and electronic sounds. The intertwining of voices and sound textures invites listeners on an emotional journey across the fragile boundary between the visible world and the unseen.
