Holy Week Processions at the Cathedral
Organized by the brotherhoods of Girona since 1946, the Holy Week processions are a series of religious events held during Lent. The traditional Via Crucis takes place every Sunday throughout Lent, culminating on the last Sunday at the Cathedral with a procession led by Bishop Fra Octavi Vilà. This event commemorates significant moments of faith and community, drawing participants and spectators together in a solemn yet meaningful observance. The processions are not only an expression of religious devotion but also a cultural tradition that connects past and present, inviting everyone to partake in this spiritual gathering.
