Girona has a history marked by the fortification of the city, from its founding by the Romans 2,100 years ago to the medieval fortifications, its expansion in the late medieval period, and finally, Girona during the sieges of the French War. This cycle aims to trace the defense of the city at different moments in its history, using the defensive elements as the main theme, but going beyond the walls to understand the society and the people it aimed to protect.
