This workshop offers an initiation to the traditional dances from the Catalan Countries, the Iberian Peninsula, and Europe. Over five days, participants will explore various cultures through lively and contemporary dances intended for public spaces. The main aim is not to learn choreographies for a show but to acquire fundamental skills that enable participants to dance with their unique style in any public gathering. Dance brings joy, fosters culture, and builds community. The workshop is suitable for all ages, and no prior dance experience is necessary. Attendees do not need to bring a partner. Led by Joan Codina Vila, the workshop will also provide historical and gender perspectives on dance. Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear, and get ready to dance!
