The story of an illiterate person escaping the life that has been written for him. Synopsis: Davide is a lame boy living in a small village in southern Italy during Mussolini's fascist dictatorship. The son of a violent and illiterate pig farmer, he grows up in a harsh and limited rural environment, marked by ignorance and lack of expectations. Fascinated by knowledge and with a deep desire to understand the world, Davide steals notebooks at the market to learn to write. His life changes with the arrival of a group of deportees, including Nicolas and his father, who set up a clandestine school. With the help of Teresa, an educated girl who teaches him to read, and the intense and contradictory bond with Nicolas, Davide discovers the power of words, the complexity of desire, and the weight of pain. All this will lead Davide to rebel against his destiny and embark on a personal journey towards freedom.
