Written and directed by Álex Castro Pizarro, this play explores the theme of love and its complexities. On New Year's Eve 2012, a bomb threat evacuates nearly 800 people from the Paradise macro-brothel in La Jonquera. Everyone flees, but she stays nearby, on the road, going back and forth until a police officer takes her to the station. On a stage crossed by the discontinuous line of a road, which draws a physical and symbolic border, the protagonist tries to cross it to confront the monsters that have brought her here. Today, after years of silence, she will begin to speak, and then nothing and no one will be able to stop her. In this monologue, words become a weapon against darkness and silence, against oppression. From this night on, they will not be able to deny her story. "A Paradise at the Border" has been selected for the 3rd edition of the program "Estrena't al territori," supporting the production and exhibition of emerging companies, an initiative by ADETCA supported by ICEC.
