On the 25th anniversary of his death, the Ernest Lluch Foundation has created this exhibition located in the lobby of the subway station named after the former Minister of Health, professor, economist, and political figure. Ernest Lluch was a pivotal figure in improving Catalan and Spanish society. As an economist, professor, and politician, he served as the Minister of Health from 1982 to 1986, considering to be the father of the General Health Law that decentralized health services into autonomous communities, laying the groundwork for the current universal health system in Spain, a model followed worldwide. Lluch was a staunch defender of citizen rights and public policies, well-acquainted with the Catalan and Basque realities. He always advocated dialogue as a way to resolve the Basque conflict, which made him a target of the terrorist group ETA, leading to his assassination on November 21, 2000.
