Perfectly Imperfect Theater

Directed by Laura Domènech Vila and Montse Rodríguez i Clusella, based on Carla Gracia Mercadé's text 'This is Me. And That's Okay.' Rut feels like she finally has her life under control: a stable job as a university professor, a house with a garden, a loving husband, and two children. However, when her 8-year-old son begins experiencing psychosis and is diagnosed with ASD, everything she thought was solid crumbles. At the same time, her terminally ill mother decides to marry an Italian playboy and invites Rut to what she perceives as a grotesque wedding at a glamping site. Her psychologist encourages her to attend and suggests she start a list of things she learns from her son. Educated to be a 'good girl,' Rut follows the instructions. What she doesn't realize is that this journey will bring her closer to her mother, confront her with her marital disappointments, rediscover an old lover, digest her son's reality, and unearth forgotten memories, healing old wounds that prevent her from being who she truly is: a strong and imperfectly perfect woman.
