Explore the powerful photographic exhibition 'Women, Photography, Prison' which showcases works by female inmates from prisons across Catalonia. This initiative is part of the 'Crossing the Lens' project, led by the Setba Foundation, and aims to shine a light on the often-invisible struggles of female prisoners, who make up only 6% of the incarcerated population. Launched in 2020, the exhibition confronts misconceptions surrounding women's experiences in detention, providing a platform for their voices and stories. The project, directed by photographer Marta Fàbregas, seeks to elevate the narratives of these women through visual storytelling, offering insight into their lives, resilience, and the socio-legal challenges they face. An accompanying event, the presentation of the photobook 'WADRAS: Invisible Women,' will take place on March 17.
