'The Red Thread' is an artistic and historical memory project that sheds light on the Francoist government's Patronato de Proteccion de la Mujer, an often-overlooked institution that significantly shaped the lives of numerous women in Spain during the dictatorship. This exhibition features compelling visual illustrations by artist Pilifarra, paired with thought-provoking texts by writer Silvia Terol Ledesma, aimed at unveiling the narratives of women intertwined with a pivotal yet hidden chapter of Spanish history. Through this exhibition on International Women's Day, we aim to honor these women's stories, explore their struggles, and delve into the impact of Francoist reforms on gender and societal roles, ensuring their voices and experiences are recognized and remembered.
