'Solid Melting in the Air' is an exhibition by artist Toni Giro, featuring a selection of works created over the past thirty years. Rather than presenting an anthology, this exhibit updates and contrasts the relationships among the pieces, transcending chronological distance to highlight a multiplicity of meanings. Rooted in expanded sculpture, Toni Giro's work reveals an interest in site-specific imagery activated by the three-dimensional devices he constructs. The artist critically explores various historical crossroads, often using irony, to illuminate the limits and possible escapes of contemporary existence. Through sculpture, installation, photography, video, or drawing, he invites reflections on the fragility of meaning construction, emphasizing the materiality and objecthood of the artwork while integrating conceptual art developments from the past several decades.
