Explore the deep-rooted feminine lineage of three generations of women in my maternal family through the cultivation of saffron in the exhibition 'Mundāre'. The project stems from a simple gesture: the meticulous process of mondar, which involves opening, separating, and cleaning the three red stigmas of the saffron flower. This seemingly insignificant yet repetitive act leads to an inquiry into how gender, class, and territory are intimately inherited—reflected through our historically rich gestures and unspoken silences. The exhibition features evocative photographs by Cristina Santa Quiteria and will host several events, including guided tours and workshops, offering participants a deeper connection to both the art and its cultural significance.
