Workshop: Soundscape Creation

In this experimental sound creation workshop, participants will explore techniques from the world of sound design for images in cinema. These techniques will be used to build sound narratives that tell stories without the need for images, through sound and soundscapes. Participants will explore various sound archives, such as Freesound, learn to design narratives, record voiceovers, and edit using the audio program Audacity to create sound narratives. Through sound experimentation, participants will be encouraged to be aware of the sound nature of their environment and to discover and experiment with the sound elements around them as available and complementary means to audiovisual media. Finally, a discussion will be generated about the meaning of sound in our cultural and social identity, and a cultural narrative will be constructed through sound pieces.
