Delve into the rich history of dragons and monsters as symbols of evil and chaos within Christian tradition. This guided tour invites participants to explore the origins, forms, and habitats of these fascinating creatures, as well as their roles within biblical and hagiographic narratives. The tour will traverse the notable sites of the Girona Episcopal complex, including the Basilica of Sant Feliu, the cathedral, and the Episcopal Palace, which hosts the Girona Art Museum. Led by Joan Piña, an art historian and director of the Cathedral Treasure Museum, visitors will examine significant works of art preserved in these historic locations, such as the tomb of Saint Narcissus and the Beatus of Girona—the oldest depiction of hell in Europe. Additionally, at the Girona Art Museum, participants will analyze valuable altarpieces, including those of Saint Michael of Cruïlles, Saint Peter of Púbol, and Saint Feliu. Due to limited spaces, prior registration is essential.
