Escrivint Hawa

The premiere of the documentary film 'Escrivint Hawa' (Writing Hawa) by Najiba Noori and Rasul Noori portrays the struggle of a woman in Afghanistan to fulfill her dream of learning to read and write. Hawa, who was forced into marriage as a child, begins her independent life at 52 by learning to read and write, but with the return of the Taliban, her dreams, along with those of her filmmaker daughter and granddaughter, face new adversities.
