Cultural Exploration of Mountains Workshop

Mercedes Pimiento, an artist and educator, invites participants to a hands-on workshop titled 'Projecte per a noves muntanyes,' which explores the cultural significance of mountains through various historical and mythical lenses. Participants will engage in creating their own mound sculptures while reflecting on the memories and entities associated with these mythical mountains, such as the iconic Maya and Egyptian pyramids. The workshop is designed to inspire creativity and dialogue around archaeological remnants and the beings that inhabited these landscapes. Mercedes, a graduate of Fine Arts from the University of Sevilla and a Master’s holder in Artistic Production and Research from the University of Barcelona, brings her extensive experience from multiple art institutions. This workshop is not only a chance to create but also to delve into the rich narratives surrounding our cultural and natural heritage.
