The workshop explores the basic equipment for playing with a looper: amplification, loop pedals and effects, and presents techniques for creating solid and expressive loops, building accompaniments, bass lines, and harmonies to enhance the sound of string instruments. Explanations are combined with practices, and arrangements conceived for performance with a looper are analyzed; it is useful for both soloists and group work. Led by Coloma Bertran, violinist, composer, and educator; it is recommended to bring your own pickup or microphone if available.
