Antoni Varès: Art and Cinema Retrospective
Join us for an insightful discussion about the life and work of Antoni Varès, a significant figure in the world of art and cinema. Hosted by Joan Boadas, an archivist and historian, alongside David Iglesias, head of the Photographic and Audiovisual Documentation Section for the City of Girona, this event will explore Varès' artistic contributions, focusing especially on his cinematic endeavors. The session will draw from the extensive archive of the artist, held at the CRDI of the Girona City Council since its initial donation in 1983, providing attendees a unique glimpse into his work. Additionally, some of Varès' films will be screened during the event, allowing for a richer understanding of his creative output. This retrospective aims to celebrate and discuss the legacy of Varès, fostering appreciation for his impact on the artistic and cinematic landscapes.
