Pepe Carvalho, the fictional character created by Vázquez Montalbán, is an atypical private investigator with a rich, complex, and contradictory personality. His adventures served the author to portray and often criticize the political and cultural situation of the changing Spanish society in the second half of the 20th century. Although of Galician origin, Barcelona is his city and is constantly described, especially the Chino (now Raval). The goal is to explore the different scenarios in the Ciutat Vella district that Montalbán, Carvalho, and Biscuter frequented. Led by Meritxell Carreras from AdaptaM BCN.
