This conference features a presentation by Rakel García, a photographer and creator of the Rockin' Ladies project, alongside Lu Ponyo, a keyboardist for Shattered Sigh and collaborator in the Rockin' Ladies initiative. They will guide attendees through the significant contributions of women in the rock and metal scenes from the 20th century to the present day. Drawing from research conducted by active Rockin' Ladies members Eva and Noe, the discussion will highlight the representation of women in rock and metal festivals, presenting data that encourages reflection on their visibility, challenges, and progress within a historically male-dominated industry. The session will conclude with an overview of influential women in Barcelona's rock and metal history, who have been pioneers and key figures in reshaping the city's musical landscape.
