At the beginning of La Rambla in Barcelona, close to the sea, stands the Columbus Monument, inaugurated in 1888 during the Universal Exhibition. By ascending the interior of the column, visitors can reach a viewpoint 60 meters above ground level, offering stunning panoramic views of the city and the port. This monument commemorates Christopher Columbus's return from America and his choice to disembark at Barcelona's port. Interestingly, the statue points in the opposite direction of America, adding a humorous twist to its significance. From this vantage point, guests can enjoy 360-degree views; to the north, they can see the Gothic Quarter with its cathedral towers, while to the south looms Montjuïc mountain, home to museums and gardens. The vibrant Olympic Port is nearby, and at their feet lies the old port and the industrial harbor. The expansive greenery of the Collserola Natural Park can also be spotted to the west, offering a refreshing escape from the urban landscape.
