VI Chamber Music Cycle at Teatre Sarrià: Concert "Ecos en contrapunt"

Join us for the sixth concert of the Chamber Music Cycle at Teatre Sarrià, titled "Ecos en contrapunt," featuring pianists Matthieu Idmtal and Maria Canyigueral. The program includes works by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, Franz Schubert, and Gyorgy Kurtag. This concert will showcase the expressive depth of Bach's chorales alongside the emotional tensions and colors of Mozart's Fantasia KV608, originally for mechanical organ, and Schubert's Fantasia D.940, both rich in counterpoint. The concert will also include pieces from Gyorgy Kurtag's "Játékok," evoking Bach and Schubert. The concert will conclude with Mendelssohn's Andante and Allegro assai vivace Op.92, a composer deeply influenced by Bach, whom he admired and helped to rediscover. The concert will feature comments and an introduction by musicologist Victòria Palma, a presenter and editor at Catalunya Música.
