The humble and new fishing district decided to build, with their own money and effort, the largest temple that had ever existed: Santa Maria del Mar. "From the top of the Collserola Mountain, on the ancient Roman road that connected the northern city of Empúries with the southern Tarragona, Bernat discovered for the first time the freedom and immensity of the sea. He had never imagined anything that had no end."
