What is this Deep South? This feeling of doom we carry within us? 'Absalom, Absalom!' tells the rise and fall of Thomas Sutpen, a boy born in poverty who becomes a man seeking social recognition. But in a Mississippi tormented by slavery and genocide, dreams of glory are doomed to failure. Directed by Séverine Chavrier, known for her work at the Comédie de Genève, this adaptation blends theater, video, live music, and dance in an epic four-voiced narrative reminiscent of Greek tragedies.
