This talk will explore how the narratives and thoughts of Edward W. Said have influenced our understanding of the world. It will highlight the relevance of Said's ideas and how the concept of Orientalism can be applied to the perception and construction of Catalonia, examining representations of the distant and the near, and their impact on our understanding of the spaces we inhabit. The session will be led by Aitor Lakhwani, who will analyze collective imaginaries and cultural constructions from a critical perspective.
