In honor of International Women's Day, this event features a talk by Maria Mayayo, a predoctoral researcher from the Consolidated Research Group at the Centre d'Estudis Històrics Internacionals (GREC-CEHI). The discussion will explore the brutal realities faced by women during Franco's dictatorship in Spain, highlighting their struggles for survival, roles in society, and the resistance they demonstrated against oppression. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how the regime affected women's lives, forcing them into challenging situations while some found ways to persevere or resist against the regime's brutality. Through this insightful session, Maria Mayayo will shed light on the critical yet often overlooked contributions and experiences of women who lived under such difficult circumstances. The event is organized by Òmnium Sant Andreu, in collaboration with the Centre d'Estudis Ignasi Iglesias.
