Bias is considering that a heart attack manifests the same in both sexes. Bias is not giving enough importance to diseases that predominantly affect women, such as endometriosis or fibromyalgia. Bias is also not including enough women in research studies. These biases are evident and can be addressed with relatively simple solutions available to professionals. However, bias also includes unconsciously downplaying a woman's symptoms because all your training as a doctor has been from an androcentric perspective where the female sex is associated with hysteria or exaggeration.
