What is shogi? Do you want to learn how to play and even participate in a tournament? The Jaume Fuster Library, in collaboration with Shogi Dojo Barcelona and Casa Àsia, organizes the workshop 'Move Piece! Play Shogi'. Shogi is a two-player strategy board game, popularly known as Japanese chess. This workshop will teach the fundamentals and include games. The Shogi Dojo Barcelona association, established in 2015, aims to promote this game through activities such as weekly meetings for play, including tournaments, and workshops teaching how to play with beginner materials and numerous boards. Casa Àsia also promotes the Japan Week cycle and board game events related to Japan held at the library. This activity is for ages 14 and up, with free access until capacity is reached. No registration is required to participate in the workshop; just show up at the library. At the end of each term, a tournament will also take place at the library, where workshop participants can showcase what they have learned during the competition. Schedule: September 27, October 25, December 20, January 24, March 28, and April 18 from 10:30 to 11:30.
