Project "Fauna in Buildings"

The "Fauna in Buildings" project focuses on the conservation and monitoring of various bird species that find suitable nesting sites in city buildings. Swallows, martins, jackdaws, and wagtails are part of this program which responds to action 1.4 of the Urban Green Plan and Biodiversity of the Barcelona City Council. The project involves a swallow census, an environmental awareness program to address coexistence issues with these birds, and the installation of nesting boxes. Collected data is compiled into a report for easier consultation and monitoring of bird populations throughout Barcelona and Catalonia, with more personalized attention in Barcelona.
