The City Council of Barcelona participates in COMDUR, a cross-border sustainable commerce project co-financed by the ERDF, within the Interreg VI-A Spain–France–Andorra program (POCTEFA 2021-2027). This initiative brings together administrations and commercial entities from various territories, including Barcelona, to promote the transition to a more sustainable and circular retail model. It develops a digital platform that allows for diagnosing the level of circularity of businesses and recommending improvement actions (waste reduction, resource efficiency, new service models, etc.). The project fosters networking among cities and territories (Gipuzkoa, Pamplona, Zaragoza, Toulouse, Eastern Pyrenees, Barcelona, etc.) to share methodologies and best practices. COMDUR directly connects Barcelona with the European agenda for green transition and circular economy applied to local commerce.
