Petit Pantalla: Screening 'Guillot and Hare Save the Forest'

Directed by Mascha Halberstad [animation - 2024]. In the heart of the forest, Beaver unveils his masterpiece: a dam that halts the river and turns the clearing into a vast lake. Proud and vain, he laments that no one admires him. Meanwhile, Owl returns home after a party with Guillot and Hare, only to find his tree surrounded by water, forcing him to flee deeper into the woods until he encounters the dam. He faints, and the water carries him to Beaver's den. The next day, his friends search for him and are shocked to discover the new pond. As the water level rises, threatening the forest and homes, Beaver must decide whether to demolish the dam to save the forest. Will he do it? What will he trade for it? Based on the book 'Vos en Haas en de bosbaask' (2013) by Sylvia Vanden Heede, illustrated by Thé Tjong-Khing. This is Halberstad's second film after 'Oink, Oink' (2022). A fun adventure film advocating for the environment, celebrating friendship and solidarity, visually captivating, evoking the craft of stop-motion animation, and conveying the value of cooperation in the face of collective problems.
