The streets Montnegre and Equador host a permanent exhibition about the historical and industrial memory of Colònia Castells. Until the 18th century, Les Corts was a rural nucleus with a few houses. Its industrialization began in the late 18th century, but it was from 1850 that the businesses in Les Corts grew and diversified. This was when the Castells Factory, specializing in rubber and cloth, and the plan for Colònia Castells were created—a neighborhood of worker houses. Although the initial 1923 plan was for 20 houses of 30 square meters, it quickly changed to 120 houses. By 1930, there were 742 residents across 142 homes. Currently, 11 old Colònia Castells houses remain, with community uses determined by a functional plan under development. The urban project, resulting from a participatory process, includes a green neighborhood space with a central plaza, walking paths, sitting areas, playgrounds, and a circuit for seniors.
