'Fasting Girls' is an innovative audiovisual and theatrical investigation delving into the relationship between fasting and imagery. This performance revolves around three key insights: images serve as nourishment, hunger generates images, and images can consume us. Although images aren’t a form of literal sustenance, 'Fasting Girls' encourages us to reassess the concept of voluntary fasting, viewing it not merely as an individual diagnosis but as a collective symptom of the contemporary desire to vanish into images. Under the direction of Marta Azparren and featuring contributions from choreographer Claudia Faci and chef Carles Tarrassó, the project intricately weaves together various artistic expressions to challenge and expand our understanding of both fasting and imagery in modern life.
