Join us for an engaging scientific illustration workshop centered around the extinct mammoth, specifically the woolly mammoth, which inhabited the Earth alongside early humans. Led by the talented scientific illustrator Hugo Salais, this workshop offers participants an opportunity to observe a remarkable fossilized skeleton of a mammoth. This hands-on experience allows attendees to accurately reconstruct the mammoth's anatomy, including its size, posture, and movement. You'll discover the techniques paleoartists use to bring extinct animals to life through art and the vital role drawing plays in the field of paleontology. Participants aged 14 and up are welcome, with no prior scientific or drawing knowledge necessary, as all workshop materials will be provided. This unique learning experience will deepen your understanding of prehistoric life through the lens of artistic representation.
