A woodcutter finds a frozen log in the forest: the last remnant of an ancient almond grove that was devastated. He takes it home and places it by the fire, covered with a blanket. During the night, the log tells its sad story to the fire, which compassionately decides to help it by making a sprite emerge from the log, granting it magical powers and a certain human appearance. The next day, the family will find a log that will explain the ritual of hitting it with a stick to make food (especially almonds and nougat) and other gifts come out. The log will be the joy of Christmas festivities. Finally, the log will make its last gift in the form of fertilizing ashes that will allow new fruit trees to grow, ensuring the magic of the Christmas log can be repeated in the following years. Suitable for ages 4 and up.
