Casa Orlandai participates in the Global Justice program, promoting reflection on human rights and solidarity. This December, we host two talks and the exhibition "Women in Taliban Afghanistan" by Bridges for Peace. The series highlights the repression faced by Afghan women and their fight for education, freedom, and dignity. Malalai Joya gained international recognition in 2003 for denouncing warlords in Afghanistan. After becoming the youngest MP in Afghan history, she survived multiple assassination attempts and fled to Spain in 2021 after the Taliban regained power. In this talk, she will analyze the current social and political context in Afghanistan and the impact of the Taliban regime on women.
