Symphonies of Science is a new contest launched this year by the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication, in collaboration with the City Council of Barcelona and the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation. Its main goal is to merge art and science and explore new ways to communicate this field. Proposals are accepted until September 15, combining research, technology, and outreach with original musical creation. Bands, soloists, or interdisciplinary collectives, both emerging and established, can participate. Six semifinalists will be selected, each receiving €300 for at least one performance in 2026. The winning proposal will receive €1,000 and a trophy, while finalists will receive €500. Key dates: July 1 - September 15: submission period; September 30: announcement of semifinalists; October 31: 1st semifinal; November 3: 2nd semifinal; November 5: 3rd semifinal; November 14: Grand Final.
