This family workshop invites participants to immerse themselves in the rich mythology and storytelling traditions of the Ainu people from northern Japan. Discover the meaning of the phrase "Shirokanipe ranran pishkan," which symbolizes the beauty of silver drops falling around, as sung by the owl deity Kamuy. Through various narratives from Yukie Chiri’s epic 'Shinyôshû', we will explore Ainu spirituality, identity, and their close connection to storytelling. The workshop offers interactive experiences, including learning Ainu words and feeling the rhythm of their traditional songs, led by artist and storyteller Yoshihira Hioki. A unique opportunity to engage with a rich cultural heritage, suitable for ages 5 and above.
