This exhibition investigates the evolution of beauty throughout history, delving into its philosophical, cultural, artistic, and scientific dimensions. Beauty ideals have existed across all eras and cultures, but we often cling to the myth of an eternal hierarchy of beauty. Our perceptions of physical attractiveness may change, yet our quest for beauty remains constant. The exhibition suggests that the pursuit of these standards can sometimes lead to a cult-like obsession. Philosophers have sought to define beauty, artists have tried to capture it, and scientists continually innovate to achieve it. Despite the lack of universal definitions of beauty, our emotional connections to it are shared. Beauty generates feelings ranging from desire to rejection, pain to pleasure, ecstasy to greed.
