Marwa Arsanios (Washington DC, 1978) is an artist, filmmaker, and researcher living between Berlin and Beirut. Her work addresses structural and infrastructural issues, such as the transformation of architectural spaces during conflict or artist-led spaces. Through cinema as a medium to connect struggles, she explores themes of property, law, economy, and ecology from specific locations. For this cycle, Arsanios presents the fifth installment of her series Who is Afraid of Ideology?, co-produced with Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Turin) and Artium Museoa (Vitoria), exploring the history of property in an Ottoman territory to rethink our relationships with land use and its legacy.
