Exhibition: Valérie Belin

The exhibition features the work of Valérie Belin at the Museo Picasso in Barcelona. The French photographer explores the relationship between reality, representation, and artifice through frontal, serial images with high formal precision, influenced by minimalism. Throughout her career since the 1990s, the artist has introduced the human figure to question identity and simulacra with series such as Bodybuilders, Transsexuels, Femmes noires, and Mannequins. From 2006 onwards, she incorporates color and develops a language she defines as magical realism, where the figure becomes a hybrid of flesh, icon, and illusion.
