"Solid that Melts in the Air" is a project by Toni Giró that showcases works from the last thirty years. Instead of being presented as an anthology, the artworks update and contrast their relations, overcoming chronological distance and exploring multiple meanings. Rooted in expanded sculpture, Toni Giró’s work examines historical dead ends and critical intersections, often with irony, addressing the limits and possible escapes of contemporaneity. The artist employs sculpture, installation, photography, video, and drawing to invite reflection on the fragility of meaning construction, emphasizing materiality and objecthood. By integrating concepts from 1970s conceptual art, this exhibition sheds light on contemporary fissures while acknowledging the theoretical frameworks that previously opened up new possibilities. Concept and work of the exhibition: Toni Giró.
