Exhibition 'Spiral of Time - Plaza dels Àngels - MACBA'

Sound is intangible and ephemeral, yet it can be one of the most defining characteristics of the spaces it occupies. 'Spiral of Time' is an in-situ work by artist Edwin van der Heide, exploring sound and its relationship with space and time. A microphone system installed at the MACBA has been recording ambient sounds from Plaza dels Àngels since July 17, 2024, continuing until July 2027. The resulting sound archive presents various ways to understand the idiosyncrasies of the museum's immediate environment through cyclic sound patterns.
