Exhibition: 'Sentimental Portraits of New York'

Curated by Martina Millà, head of exhibitions at the Joan Miró Foundation, this exhibition features the work of Joan Casellas, an artist and performer who first showed at Espai 10 in 1979 before moving to the United States. After settling in New York, Casellas, along with other generations of Catalan artists, captured his friendships and experiences in the city through photography. This exhibition will resonate and converse with a significant show on Joan Miró's connections and projects in the United States, scheduled at the Joan Miró Foundation for fall 2025. The photographs evoke a rich narrative of cultural exchange and provide insight into the artistic dialogues that unfolded during this dynamic period.
