This exhibition delves into the imagination of the Catalan writer, centering on the radical nature of her literature. Curated by Neus Penalba, it offers a journey through the major themes of her work, understanding them as a complex network of meanings, akin to the roots and branches of a tree, extending into intricate and intertwined branches of meaning. The space is conceived as a vast forest that organically connects the different rooms, exploring the writer's work through this arboreal metaphor: the literary and life roots, the experience of uprooting caused by exile, the trunks that embody the experience of war, and the branches that reach out to great names in Western culture - writers, painters, and filmmakers. The exhibition includes original documents from the Mercè Rodoreda Foundation, historical materials, photographs, film fragments, and contemporary works by artists inspired by Rodoreda's work. Artistic project selection by Martí Sales. Curated by Neus Penalba.
