Exhibition on Catalan Mythology


The exhibition celebrates the rich tapestry of Catalan mythology, showcasing a selection of popular and rooted folklore characters. Despite often being overshadowed by other mythologies like Norse or Celtic, these stories remain a source of inspiration for contemporary authors in the fantasy genre. This exhibit is part of the fifth edition of the Festival 42 and features around fifteen of the most emblematic figures from Catalan oral traditions. From Joan de l'Os, who connects with American superhero stories, to dragon legends reminiscent of popular anime, visitors will explore the intricate links between these local myths and global literary narratives. The exhibition is curated by Laia Baldevey, who is noted for her expertise in visualizing mythology, including works like 'Mythology of the Catalan Countries' and 'Mythology of Montserrat'.
